Absolutely not. We will hold fundraisers like any program, but there is never any mandatory fundraising.
-
-
What does the coaching look like here?
-
Our coaching staff is composed almost entirely of former/current college baseball players, most of them being newly graduated. We believe this gives our players the best opportunity to relate to their coaches and learn the game from someone who has played at one of the highest levels.
-
Head coaches, 12U-18U, are required to have collegiate baseball experience.
-
Head coaches are free to choose their own assistants as they see fit.
-
-
Where is your home field for the 10-14U and what league are we in?
-
Veterans Park in Lake Geneva, WI is our home field. 10-12u plays on Field 5 and our 13u-14u plays on Molitor Field.
-
We will be in the Major YBL, just like the 2023 season.
-
Our 15-18u does not compete in league play due to the High School season in the spring and our very busy training/weekend tournament schedule in the Summer.
-
-
-
How many games and tournaments do you play?
-
18-22 league games, typically 1-2x per week.
-
7 tournaments, typically 2-3 per month.
-
Most tournaments are local and within 75 minutes of our facility.
-
We may schedule a couple of tournaments that will require an overnight stay and could be out-of-state.
-
-
-
What happens in August between seasons?
-
Nothing much. We go on vacation and we hope you all do the same with your families. After a full year of baseball it is necessary for all coaches, players, and parents to take some time off.
-
-
Who should I contact with questions?
-
We ask that ALL point of contact comes via email. Please keep it professional and email ANY questions/comments/concerns to info@shockersbbsb.com
-
We do not have a company phone number and we ask that you do not message our social media pages because we may not see the message in time.

-
My son isn’t playing as much as I’d like him to. Who do I talk to?
-
You talk to your son and you explain to him that if he is unhappy with his playing time, he needs to talk to his coach about an explanation of what he can do to see more. 10u-18u, all playing time issues are between players and coaches only. We take the time to hire competent coaches and we're going to assume they have the best answer to your question.
-
We do not want to hear from parents before we hear from the players.
-
-
Are there roster maximums?
-
Yes. We have a maximum amount of players we will accept on a team at every level to ensure adequate playing time for the guys who make the team. We will not overload a team in an effort to make a few extra dollars. Generally we aim for 12 players on a team but will accept a few more on older teams to account for all the pitching needed in tournaments.
-
10u-13u: 12 Players
-
14u-18u: 12-14 Players

What is expected of parents at games and practices?
-
At games, we ask you to sit back, enjoy being a spectator and watch your son play the game. Cheer him on, maybe have a hot dog. That's it.
-
For practices, we ask that parents only come in for the first 5 minutes and the last 5 minutes. Practices are private, much like a classroom.
-
-
What is not expected of parents?
-
Here is a short list of things we could go without:
-
If you want to enjoy adult beverages before our games, go right ahead, but don't become a problem for anyone else. This is still about the kids, not time away from work.
-
There is no smoking of any kind allowed at any of our games. Please be respectful of spectators/players.
-
There is no cussing or yelling at umpires from the stands. Leave that to the coaches.
-
From the time your son starts his pre-game routine until the game ends, parents will refrain from wandering into the dugout area. Please let your son play the game and let coaches coach.
-
We ask everyone to wait 24-48 hours before emailing us about issues/concerns. Nothing is perfect and this is a game. If something upset you today, you can sleep on it and we'll have a conversation about it tomorrow if it's still important.

-
Our family has decided to go another route, but we've already started payments. Is there a refund?
-
There are no refunds here and there are no exceptions. A vast majority of the year is paid for months in advance and we cannot entertain refund requests.
-
If you decide to go another route, you are free to leave at any point and we wish you the best of luck in your next program. No hard feelings.
-
-
-
Do you offer recruiting opportunities for high school players looking at college baseball?
-
Absolutely. Bryce Inman runs our recruiting department and does a great job of getting our high school players in front of colleges. We are very excited to see our collegiate recruitment program develop over the next few years.
-
If your son is interested in playing at the next level, please get in contact with us to get a recruiting profile set up. This is a FREE service that we offer. We want nothing more than to see our guys play at the next level and cheer them on for another 4 years.
-
-
Are all practice and training sessions mandatory?
-
Not necessarily. We understand that life is busy and kids are involved in other sports/interests. We encourage our players to pursue whatever they are interested in and dedicate time to their passions, even if baseball doesn't come first for part of the year.
-
That being said, baseball needs to be somewhere in the schedule over the winter and must come first when we get into the early spring - late summer. The schedule is released far enough in advance that there is no excuse to have overlapping events during season. We cannot develop the most competitive team if players are not fully committed in-season.
- We also expect our players to attend facility practices and training sessions 1-2x per week at the bare minimum in the off-season. We find that if players cannot attend off-season practices, they will not be ready for the season.
- Even if another sport/interest conflicts with all of our scheduled practices and training sessions, the facility does offer open hours for our players to book and still get their work in when it is convenient for them.

-
Does Shockers offer softball?
-
We do not offer softball teams.
-
-
Is there spirit wear, gear and equipment available for purchase?
-
Yes, we do have some extra equipment left over at the end of the season's that we sell to our players for very cheap. Please stop in if you need an extra set of practice pants, helmet, etc. and we'll see what we can find you.
-
We have very limited inventory when it comes to spirit wear as we do not have the space to house any of it. You will find most of our apparel at our online store listed at the top of the home page which is open 24/7/365.
-
Parents/players can also order spirit wear through Burghardt's when our team store is offered.
